UPDATE 2020 (“COVID”):  CMOSA OPPOSES THE NATIONAL STATE OF DISASTER AND THE ECONOMIC DAMAGE IT CAUSES.  WE URGE ALL COMMUNITIES TO FOLLOW THE CMOSA HEALTH POLICY TO DEAL WITH ALL OUTBREAKS, EPIDEMICS AND PANDEMICS.  REMEMBER OUR KEY PRINCIPLE – YOUR OWN DOCTOR KNOWS BEST.

CMOSA HEALTH POLICY

KEY PRINCIPLE: LOCAL COMMUNITY DOCTORS KNOW BEST HOW TO TREAT THEIR OWN PATIENTS.

We CALMLY take note of the long list of pathogens of concern: Malaria, Cholera,  E-Coli, Marburg, Ebola, Rabies, HIV, Hantavirus, Influenza, Dengue, Rotavirus, SARS-CoV 1 and 2, MERS-CoV, Carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter, Candida auris, Clostridioides difficile, Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales, Drug-resistant Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Drug-resistant Campylobacter, Drug-resistant Candida, ESBL-producing Enterobacterales, Vancomycin-resistant Enterococci (VRE), Multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Drug-resistant nontyphoidal Salmonella, Drug-resistant Salmonella serotype Typhi, Drug-resistant Shigella, Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Drug-resistant Streptococcus pneumoniae and Drug-resistant Tuberculosis and we fully support Port-of-Entry screening for ALL pathogens. We further urge travellers to go to their local screening points a few days after they return from a trip to have their temperature checked.

CMOSA believes in exceptionally high levels of LOCAL service delivery, which makes it easy for community members to have regular check-ups at their LOCAL clinic for any illnesses.  Clinics and doctors of the community must communicate and report any signs of outbreaks.  Good local services is safer for everyone as people WALK in fresh air and sunshine instead of excessive travel.

We demand PROFESSIONALISM from each individual LOCAL DOCTOR and LOCAL CLINIC SISTER – who knows best how to deal with all the illnesses on an individual care basis. Should they declare an epidemic in a LOCAL area, the council health department must deal with that epidemic after confirming it.  Each LOCAL clinic should consult with their community around the issues of face masks, taverns, churches and other gatherings.  Far away politicians have no business interfering in the relationship between each citizen and their doctor / clinic sister.

We promote EDUCATION about the various pathogens that can make people ill, which includes fungus, mould, spores, allergens, bacteria, viruses and poisons.

Each local clinic helps to educate their community about good nutrition, healthy habits, understanding their own immune system and avoiding air-borne, water-borne and food-borne pathogens.

We believe in good hygiene, cleanliness and professional decontamination services to moderate the spread of illness, through COMMON SENSE.
